Chlorophthalmus (Edwards), with a bright orange foot-claw bigger than its body, which inhabits burrows, formed among the grass, in muddy places near the sea…” Of species common to the area, the one with the most consistantly orange claw is Tubuca dussumieri, although Paraleptuca crassipes is more similar to Paraleptuca chlorophthalmus and has a bright red claw.
